Bush Bashing

I'm not really sure why, but lately all this Bush Bashing is really getting on my nerves. With the flooding in the New Orleans area I really think everyone should just shut up about what a Nazi he is and concentrate on the human suffering and what we can do. I'm really not sure why he was shuffled into the same category as Hitler when he was elected and if some liberal out there would like to let me know, have at it. I don't get it. Is it because they don't like people dying for their country? *ahem* excuse me, but the last time I checked, dying for your country is supposed to be noble and haven't people been dying for their country since the beginning of time? Who are THEY to say that the enlisted soldiers are WRONG? Why try to take away their right as American citizens to pledge their lives for the lives of others? Some people might argue that they aren't dying for America but they are dying for another country. So, are you saying that the lives of those people in Iraq are less important than the lives of Americans? I dunno. I'm rambling. I guess I just wish that I, a conservative, could know the real reason for all the Bush Bashing. Do you guys really want him assassinated?? I mean come on... aren't we going a little far here? He's someone's son, someone's daddy, someone's beloved husband. Do you really want him KILLED because you don't like his politics? Please people, let's calm down and have just a little respect for our American President.

Hey Janine, this is Adam. What's up in the 'Burgh?

On the topic of this particular entry I want to say that it should be compulsory for Americans to get out of America for at least a few months of our lives. It really opens up perspectives on a variety of topics. I used to share the same conservative views and support of Bush, but the world is a big/small place. What I mean is that he flexes military and economical power whenever he feels the whim take him. He does this to "help America", but at the same time he's irreversably damaging the lives of people and economies worldwide. The reason that alot of people don't like America, and don't like Americans is that we have a very narrow view of the world. We talk about the rest of the world, we see some news about the rest of the world, but in large part we don't care about the rest of the world. And our top elected official is a magnified vision of that for citizens of other countries. He comes across as cocky, and careless. To the American people he comes across as a dumb hick. He's not. It's an act he's mastered. It's an act he used to win the last election. There were much larger issues on the plate than gay marriage, and if I'm not mistaken gay marriage is an afterthought at this point, but he used it (very successfully) to motivate alot of highly conservative people to vote. So far as having our troops across the globe to "protect freedom" it's not necessary. The soldiers are not forging friendships and allies, they're presence is creating enemies and fanatics. Take a look at it from their perspective, the most powerful country in the history of Earth has taken over their country and destroyed their cities, homes, and neighborhoods. Not to mention all the innocents who have been killed or crippled in the process. Now how would you feel if you were an Iraqi? I'd be pretty pissed off. We aren't there to support freedom, that just a pretense. I won't pretend to know what it's a pretense for, but there are a number of theories floating around. So yes, Bush was elected, and he was really crafty about how went about getting elected (both times), and I think he should be allowed to serve out the remainder of his term, it's his right. We shouldn't try to kill him. We shouldn't try to kill anybody. But we should learn from the experience of the "Bush Regime", and in the future have a broader view of the world. That's just my opinion.

P.S. Katrina was nobody's fault, it was a freaking hurricane. Bureaucracy failed the people of the Gulf Coast in the aftermath, not any one person.
